13 hours ago Through extensive X-ray diffraction and compositional anal., a formation mechanism is proposed, based on in-situ nitridation by the decompg. The Fe3N nanoparticle sponge is shown to be a promising catalyst for ammonia decompn., an easy process for CO2-free hydrogen supply and off-gas treatment. In situ and operando X-ray diffraction or X-ray imaging in the reciprocal spacing has been used to capture the dynamic phase transformation, extract the subsurface cooling rates, and evolution of strains during LPBF of Ti-6Al-4V 42,155,156.
In-situ/Operando X-ray Powder Diffraction
Overview
Real time monitoring of the formation of kinetic and thermodynamic products in a reaction is extremely important for the synthesis, isolation, and growth of new materials. Powder X-ray diffraction methods are proven to be an excellent probe for such in-situ/operando experiments . X-ray radiation of an appropriate wavelength can penetrate through the reaction vessel or device and provide diffraction information about solid-to-solid reactions, transformations, gas-to-solid interactions, liquid-to-solid crystal growth processes, and decomposition or intermediate products.
