I'm very positive that Canon does not put any shutter count information in the picture file (EXIF data), unlike most other camera brands (Nikon, Sony, Pentax, etc). With Canon, the shutter count must be read through USB. I still have not indication that you can read the shutter count of a Canon 80D. Most cameras write shutter count to the EXIF data on each photo. So, most of the free counting apps and websites just scrape the count out of the image's metadata. Starting with the Digic 6 processor in 2013, Canon stopped putting that data point into EXIF. Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for Canon EOS 80D 24.2MP Camera Body- GREAT COND- LOW SHUTTER COUNT- 29,618 at the best.

On the 2014 Windows list the 80D isn't listed obviously and apparently it wasn't added later. On the Mac it is on the list but the camera needs to be connected to the Mac via usb, so I can't check for you (with just a file I mean). My flickr LOG IN TO REPLY |

Back in 2014 there was a ShutterCount (for Windows) and both the Windows and Mac version were roughly versions 1.x.x and it only supported the Canon 'D' cameras up to the 70D. Today they are up to version 4.x.x and clearly it will not work on Windows of any version. Unfortunately there isn't any version history to establish when the Windows support ended. The thread at https://photo.stackexchange.com …ation-count-on-an-eos-80d seems to indicate that Windows support was dropped at version 3.x.x. Read Down that thread and note that 'eosmsg' might be a viable way to get the count. LOG IN TO REPLY |
